Auction tickets on sale until Monday

The Peace Lutheran School Auction Committee has been busily preparing more than 60 baskets for its Silent and Live Auction on April 2 at the Dixie Chopper Business Center. All tickets to the auction must be purchased by 5 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $25 for adults 21 and older, and include dinner. The doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the silent auction. Dinner is at 5:30, and the live auction begins at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Peace Lutheran Church, 1421 S. Bloomington St., Greencastle, or by calling 653-6995. Ticket purchasers may also get a list of donors.

Putnam jobless rate among state's worst

Despite recent good news for the Putnam County employment picture, the latest statistics put the local jobless rate at one of its worst levels ever. Gun show coming to fairgrounds

This weekend, the Putnam County Fairgrounds will be host to a gun and knife show. Today and tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, Putnam County residents can browse through a variety of guns and knives, as well as hunting paraphernalia and other related items. Admission is $5. Jon Clark, front, and Stephen Lucas help set up the display for Have Guns Will Trade out of Brazil, one of the vendors at the show.

Crew recycles Dairi-Licious building

A failed business experiment on the south side of Greencastle will soon be recycled for the original business that spawned it five years ago. The Dairi-Licious building at 1215 S. Bloomington St. is currently being salvaged by Hardhats and Hammers Construction. The material will be reused when the original Dairi-Licious in Crawfordsville is rebuilt this fall...
