Elks Donations

Two local organizations will benefit from a gift from the Elks National Foundation Fund. Greencastle Elks Lodge No. 1077 recently made donations of $500 each to the Putnam County Youth Development Commission and the Greencastle High School Band Endowment. Remembering a Hero

The American flag flew at half-staff Friday at the Owen Community Bank in Cloverdale in honor of fallen Cloverdale soldier SPC.E-4 James A. Waters, the 21-year-old son of Garry and Valerie Waters. Cloverdale officials have asked that flags in their town to be lowered to half-staff on Saturday in his honor. The soldier's body was returned to Indiana from Dover (Del.) Air Force Base Friday afternoon with a hearse-led procession taking it from the Indianapolis Airport to Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Whiteland High School.
