According to Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Joe Watts, U.S. 231 in Putnam County is closed just north of U.S. 40 due to an overturned semi. There appears to minor injuries. It is unknown how long road closed. This story will be updated...

Driver injured after commercial vehicle rollover crash

At 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, Indiana State Police Troopers and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to a commercial vehicle roll over crash on U.S. 231 just north of U.S. 40 near Tall Lakes Road. The crash resulted in injuries to the driver. Preliminary investigated revealed a 2008 Kenworth tri-axle dump truck, driven by 54-year-old James Manuel of Terre Haute, was northbound on U.S. ...

Putnam farm family earns Hoosier Homestead Award

INDIANAPOLIS -- A northeastern Putnam County farm that has been in the same family for more than 150 years is a 2015 recipient of the Hoosier Homestead Award. The Hanson and Strietelmeier Farm, located just west of the Putnam-Hendricks county line, has been in operation since 1856.
