If the old “red sky at morning, sailor take warning” axiom is correct, some mariners -- ancient or not -- ought to be on their toes overnight after this pre-dawn display in the skies over Greencastle’s East Side. This is the view about 7:45 a.m. Friday, looking east from the Walmart parking lot over the ground west of the Putnam County Airport. There is actually only a 40 percent chance of rain early this evening and nothing else in the immediate forecast.

Jim Luzar retiring from Purdue Extension service

Luzar, a former Putnam County ag Extension agent, is retiring from the Parke County Office of Purdue Extension.
