Gregory Lee Carter

Gregory Lee Carter, 77, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 surrounded by his family at Hendricks Regional Health.

Gregory was born July 14, 1946 to William Shell Carter and Winona Irene Carter (Ephlin) in Crawfordsville.

Gregory was a longtime member of the Masons and the Scottish Rite. He was also a member for many years at the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Gregory graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. He then went to work with State Farm Insurance for 25-plus years, starting in Lafayette and then in Jacksonville, Fla. He then spent the last seven years here in Indiana, spending time with his loving sister, Sandra.

Gregory was preceded in death by his parents.

Gregory is survived by his sister, Sandra Woods (Jim); his niece, Kristie Rector (Bruce Richard); great-niece Katlyn Rector (Irvin Canas); great-nephew Brandon Rector (Lexi); cousin Mary Lou VanHuysen; and several other cousins.

Services will be held at a later date in Daytona Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, 3140 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32118.

Services have been entrusted to Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
