William Theodore ‘W.T.’ Watson

William Theodore “W.T.” Watson, 81, of Greencastle, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Born Jan. 22, 1943 in Louisville, Ky., the son of Odes and Beulah Watson.

He was a 1961 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

W.T. was a longtime employee of IBM, working in Greencastle from 1962 to 1987 before relocating to North Carolina, where he continued with the company until retirement in 1998. He was active with the Bainbridge Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Vera Bell.

W.T. is survived by his children, Lori McGuire, Dawn Watson, Josh Watson and Wesley (Margaret) Watson; grandchildren Hanna Gomez, Reece McGuire and Jack Watson; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bainbridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
