MANHATTAN -- Temporary lane closures are scheduled to occur later this week on U.S. 40 east of Manhattan in Putnam County, the Indiana Department of Transportation has announced.

Beginning on or after Thursday, Aug. 1, crews will close the right lanes on both U.S. 40 eastbound and westbound for bridge repairs and maintenance. The lane closures will be in effect between County Road 445 West and CR 325 West.

Work is expected to last until late September but is weather permitting and subject to change.
