County Jail

Nine people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 8:48 p.m. Michael R. Strange, 47, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

Tuesday

• At 6:40 p.m. Johnathan A. McCormack, 38, Roachdale, was booked in for battery.

• At 3:53 a.m. Khymier R. Wright, 21, Akron, Ohio, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 3:51 a.m. Matthew D. Wieczorek, 32, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Monday

• At 9:28 p.m. Beth L. Wilburn, 59, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 12:20 p.m. Matthew C. Richardson, 49, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated-refusal.

• At 11:23 a.m. James M. Sandusky, 41, Cloverdale, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Saturday

• At 11:16 a.m. Michael Shane Witt, 45, Cloverdale, was booked in for intimidation.

Friday, Aug. 30

• At 9:03 p.m. Kelli J. Cadwell, 42, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

City Police

Greencastle Police officers made six recent arrests.

• At 12:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Amy Hicks, 49, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Alec Pettit.

Taken into custody at a Seminary Street residence, Hicks was lodged at the Putnam County Jail for intimidation.

• At 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Raymond Isbell, 42, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Justin Herd.

Taken into custody at a Tacoma Drive residence, Isbell is accused of domestic battery.

• At 4:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Christina Payton, 44, Greencastle was arrested by Detective Darrel Bunten.

Taken into custody at Walmart for theft, Payton allegedly walked past all points of sale with a cart filled with $505.42 worth of food and miscellaneous items.

• At 12:24 a.m. on Saturday, Jessica Owens, 38, Terre Haute, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown.

Taken into custody at Indianapolis Road and Percy Julian Dr., Owens was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. She was also wanted on a Monroe County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a legend drug.

• At 2:31 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, Brandon Gurney, 29, Crawfordsville, arrested by Officer Brown.

Taken into custody at a Judson Court residence, Gurney was lodged at the jail for invasion of privacy as well as a Montgomery County warrant for two counts of domestic battery resulting in bodily injury and confinement.

• At 8:33 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, Cody White, 31, Greencastle, was arrested by Capt. Brad Hiatt.

Taken into custody at the Greencastle Police Department, White was transported to the Putnam County Jail as a result of a Putnam County warrant for intimidation.

Officer also issued two recent citations:

• At 6:16 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, Karen Singson, 57, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Herd.

Stopped at Seminary and Arlington streets, Singson was cited for disregarding a stop sign.

• At 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, Donald Clark, 36, Penn Hills, Pa., was ticketed by Sgt. Nick Eastham.

Stopped at Franklin and Market streets, Clark was cited for disregarding an official traffic control device.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to the following recent dispatches.

• At 8:18 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was called to a fire alarm at 301 E. Seminary St. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the activation was due to cooking. They reset the alarm at returned to service at 8:28 p.m.

• At 10:03 p.m. on Tuesday, firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm at 412 S. Jackson St. Upon arrival, they could not determine what had activated the system. They reset the alarm and left the scene at 10:11 p.m.

• At 2:34 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a call to assist the Fillmore Fire Department with a one-vehicle motor vehicle crash with injuries at 4569 E. SR 240. After assisting with patient care, crews were released from the scene at 3:59 p.m.

• At 11:28 p.m. on Monday, crews were called to an alarm at 507 S. Locust St. They were unable to determine a cause and left the scene at 11:45 p.m.

• At 10:31 p.m. on Monday, firefighters investigated an alarm at 109 W. Hanna St. Upon investigation, they determined the activation was due to cooking. They cleared the scene at 10:44 p.m.

• At 10:24 a.m. on Monday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 509 S. Locust St. Upon investigation, they decided it was due to steam from a shower. Crews reset the alarm system and returned to service at 10:34 a.m.

GFD also responded to five medical runs as well as once being disregarded en route to a call.
