Main Street to host Trick-or-Treat on Square

Thursday, October 24, 2024

Main Street Greencastle will be hosting Trick-or-Treat on the Courthouse Square from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 31.

This will allow community members to trick-or-treat in a safe environment and engage with downtown businesses and organizations.

This year’s event will have a number of twists. DePauw University will be hosting activities in the M2 building including music, showing your favorite family friendly Halloween clips, hands-on activities and a hot chocolate bar.Putnam County Hospital will be on the scene with giveaways. The Putnam County Library will open with treats and books for the youngsters. The Greencastle Fire Department will be at the fire station ready to receive all of the costumed visitors, and The Elks will also be handing out goodies as well.

The trick-or-treat route for the square will be similar to the First Friday footprint. This means that participants will not need to cross Jackson Street, allowing for safer Halloween strolling. The route will encompass Franklin Street (Jackson to Vine), Indiana Street (Franklin to Poplar) as well as businesses on Washington and Walnut Streets.

Any local businesses, churches or organizations outside of the Courthouse Square that would like to participate in the event may take part in trunk-or-treat fashion by contacting Main Street Greencastle at hello@mainstreetgc.org. Main Street welcomes any group that would like to support this community event.

  • The address of DePauw's M2 building is not listed. Not everyone may know the address.
