Board releases superintendent update

The first day of school is nearly here for the Greencastle Community School Corporation and, with that in mind, the district's supervising board has released certain details concerning the selection process for a new superintendent. An original field consisting of 16 candidates has been narrowed to just two and, through diligent transparency, the input of a randomized-list of employees and with supervision from the Indiana School Board Association, Board President Denise Sigworth stated that a meeting to announce full details to all of the district's employees has been set.. ...

Marj Peeler to spin pottery tales at museum Saturday

The Putnam County Museum will welcome Marj Peeler, artist, potter, carver, author, mother and friend to speak at the museum, Saturday, Aug. 6. The 11 a.m. program is free and open to the public. The museum recently accessioned a large Peeler Pottery vessel that was commissioned by Chester and Ruth Coan, of Greencastle, in the early 1960s. Mrs. Peeler will recall moments in the making of this particular "vase" and other unique pieces that were likewise commissioned...

Greencastle Aquatic Center to remain open through Aug. 14
