Richard Rhea Carman

Richard Rhea Carman, 68, passed away March 26, 2022 at IU Health.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1954 in Greencastle to Charles and Patricia (Nelson) Carman.

Rick attended South Putnam High School and graduated in the class of 1972.

He married Diana Shaw in January 1974 and they had one daughter, Heather, and she survives.

Rick was a truck driver for more than 40 years before retiring. Rick was an owner/operator and drove cross country for over 40 years.

Rick enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.

Rick’s greatest passion was his twin grandchildren, Katie and Ben.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Charles Carman, and his sister Joyce Paris.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia; his daughter, Heather Carman; brother Randy Carman; his twin grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Benjamin Carman; niece Stacey (Kevin) Paris-Drengacs; nephew Jason Paris; uncle Dale (Barbara) Nelson, as well as other extended family members and friends.

Cremation Society of Indiana has been entrusted with Rick’s cremation arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Putnam County Humane Society located at 4700 E. State Road 240, Greencastle, IN 46135.
