Michael Allen Ash Sr.

Michael Allen Ash Sr., 74, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

Michael was born in Greencastle on Sept. 12, 1948, the son of Walter and Lucille (Fowler) Ash.

Mr. Ash worked for many years as an equipment operator for Jerry Rowings.

He loved to go catfishing on the Wabash River and collecting John Deere toys and memorabilia.

Survivors include his children, Shelly Brann (ZZ), Missy Joseph, Michael Ash Jr. (Michelle), Russell Ash (Tonya), Martin Handy (Sheila) and Daniel Ash (Nikki); 24 grandchildren, Jennifer, Caleb, Michelle, Cameron, McKenzie, Michael, Megan, Tiffany, Rusty, Brandie, Austin, Zachary, Levi, Raven, Keely, Bristol, Daphne, Chelsea, Ariel, Brianna, Isaiah, Parker, Rachel and Ella; and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vickie Lynn Ash; and four brothers and one sister.

Family would like to thank Hickory Creek for the excellent care they provided to Michael.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Oct. 5 any time between 4-7 p.m. at the Lifebuilder Community Center, located at 701 E. Washington St., Greencastle.
