Mary Evelyn Heeke

Mary Evelyn Heeke, 97, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mary was born in Putnamville on Sept. 8, 1925, the daughter of Ernest C. and Mary E. (Sellers) Smith.

She was a graduate of Cloverdale High School in 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Heeke (Kathy) of Greencastle and Bill Heeke (Laurie), of Greencastle; two daughters, Marcia Linville of Greencastle, and Theresia Dunkel (Larry) of Gallatin, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert J. Heeke; three brothers, John, Bill and Joyce “Bud” Smith; and two sisters, Mildred Davis and Elizabeth Jones.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at Putnamville Cemetery with Pastor Mark Strom officiating.
