John Raymond Atkins

John Raymond Atkins, 73, of Brownsburg, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022.

He was born Dec. 2, 1949 in Indianapolis, the son of Joseph and Annett Atkins.

John was a 1967 graduate of Greencastle High School and served our country in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War combat veteran.

John did restoration and remodeling for Pat O’Riley Construction Company. He loved golf and was member of the Quail Creek Golf Course in Pittsboro and was a member of Brownsburg American Legion Post 331.

John is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Janet Atkins; children Amy Thomas and Brad (Cathy) Atkins; grandchildren Hunter Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Cash Atkins and Isla Atkins; brothers David (Donna) Atkins and Mark (Angie) Atkins; sister Lola Niblick; sister-in-law Linda (Mike) White; niece Stephanie (Dan) Bishop and their children, Isabella and Sam Bishop; and several other nieces and nephews.
