Blanche Stubblefield

Blanche Stubblefield, age 99, Plainfield, formerly of Coatesville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 4, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1923, in Putnam County, the daughter of Roy C. and Mabel McAnninch Buis.

She married Ira Stubblefield on Aug. 29, 1948, and he preceded her on Feb. 7, 2003.

Blanche was a homemaker and was a member of the Hazelwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Janet (Tom) Jonker of Coatesville, Nancy Stubblefield of Plainfield and David (Linda) Stubblefield of Merrillville; four grandchildren, Kristi (Chris) Calkins, Melissa (Brandon) Dillard, Bethany (Hugh) McCraney and Kim (Peter) Locke; eight great-grandchildren, Annalisa, Ethan and Michaela Calkins and Christopher Ira, Karis, Katherine, Lily and Linnea Locke; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, husband and siblings Leon Buis, Ella Rarridan, Ruth Woods, Vera Jean Davis, Emma Kay Gorham, Lloyd Buis and Charles Buis.

Visitation will be held at the Hazelwood Baptist Church, 9838 S. CR 0, Clayton, IN 46118, on Friday, July 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 8 from noon until 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Pastor Steve Rich will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stilesville Cemetery.
