Madonna Jean Foulke, 97, Carmel, formerly of Center Point, passed away Dec. 3, 2023 at Bridgewater Health Center of Carmel.

Madonna was born to the late Carl and Tina (James) Anderson on May 16, 1926 in Center Point.

Madonna attended Bowling Green High School and graduated from Ashboro High School in 1946. During high school, she was a cheerleader.

Madonna was part owner of Bowling Green Hardware, where she was able to triple the staff. She loved meeting new people in the hardware store.

On Nov. 11, 1972, Madonna married Windell Foulke, who preceded her in death on March 14, 2001.

Madonna worked at JCPenney in Greencastle for many years before becoming a dorm mother at DePauw University. The last job she held was as a hostess at Taco Bell, which she said was her favorite job. Madonna loved people and was always a smiling face.

Madonna attended Hanna Street Baptist Church and was a lifelong member of Center Point United Methodist Church. Madonna was a 50-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 255, Greencastle, and the last appointment she received was Martha Point of the Star.

Madonna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother- and sister-in-law, William and Beverly Anderson; brother-in-law Don Peters; her stepson, Larry Foulke; and special friend Richard Cochran.

Madonna is survived by her sister, Carol S. Peters of Indianapolis; brother Montie C. Anderson (Bonnie) of Noblesville; daughter-in-law Judy Foulke; nieces and nephews Donna K. Vail (Barry), Elizabeth Burdsall (Tim), Steve Anderson, Jeanna Hicks (Michael) and Anthony B. Anderson (Tony Pond); four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, Dec 8 from 4-8 p.m. at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Center Point United Methodist Church, 208 S. Cherry St., Center Point. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.
