GHS tennis completes undefeated conference season

The Greencastle girls’ tennis team celebrates its undefeated conference season Monday following a 4-1 win over Indian Creek. With a 4-1 win over Indian Creek Monday evening, the Greencastle girls’ tennis team completed an 8-0 run through the rest of the Western Indiana Conference.

The win secured an outright WIC title for the Tiger Cubs and completed an 18-3 regular season.

In singles action, Allie Landry won 6-1, 6-0 against Reese Tunell at No. 1, Maddie Landry swept Lilly Swanson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 3 Addie Fowler defeated Grace Werden 6-1, 6-2.

The No. 2 doubles team of Liberty Amis and Lauren Dibble also won 6-2, 6-2 over Alaina Perry and Eliza Tharp.

At No. 1 doubles, the Braves’ Lanie Swanson and Alexa Sichting topped Sophie Riggle and Bella Monnett 6-1, 6-4.

Greencastle is back in action Wednesday, hosting Mooresville for a first-round sectional match at 7 p.m.
