County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 3:31 a.m. Gavin. A. Eyster, 19, Fairland, was lodged at the jail for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage, driving with an ACE of .15 or more and driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 10:35 p.m. Tyler P. Kuras, 33, Russellville, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

• At 9:29 p.m. Matthew L. Kuchler, 53, Fillmore, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:13 a.m. Andra M. Ellis, 47, Terre Haute, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 1:02 a.m. Sabrina M. Hardy, 42, Clayton, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

Friday

• At 7:19 p.m. Gracyn A. Bell, 27, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for domestic battery.

• At 12:19 a.m. Pamela A. Scott, 49, Russellville, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 6:12 p.m. Stanley E. McKinney, 42, Fillmore, was booked in for possession of a firearm by a violent felon, reckless driving and driving a vehicle as a habitual traffic offender.

• At 11:29 a.m. Aron J. Monnett, 39, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:19 a.m. Shawn M. Mansfield, 50, Greencastle, was taken into custody for battery resulting in bodily injury.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to seven incidents between Thursday morning and Monday morning:

• At 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Yuncker House at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:54 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:59 p.m.

• At 4:04 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Hamilton House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:09 and determined the alarm was due to a hair dryer. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:14 a.m.

• At 8:05 p.m. on Friday, GFD received a direct call for a smoke detector going off at 612 Apple St. Firefighters arrived at 8:14 and determined that the detector was dirty and outdated. The homeowner was advised to replace it. GFD went back into service at 8:23 p.m.

• At 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Delta Tau Delta at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:26 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:33 a.m.

• At 6:16 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Spring Tree Square Condominiums for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:20 and found pull stations were activated as residents advised that the system was being tested. The pull stations and the alarm system were reset. GFD went back into service at 6:34 p.m.

• At 8:46 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 1046 Castlebury Dr. for an oven that was arching. Firefighters arrived at 8:49 and determined that the element was broken. Power to the stove was disconnected, and GFD went back into service at 9:31 p.m.

• At 6:59 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to the intersection of county roads 300 West and 25 North for a downed power line. Firefighters arrived at 7:07 p.m. to a power line across the roadway. Parke County REMC was contacted and they remained until the line was removed. GFD went back into service at 9:18 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for nine medical assists during this timeframe.
