Trevin Long hit the third Greencastle RBI sac fly to add a run in the fourth though the lead was reduced to 5-3 after five innings after Jade Woolems drove in one run while Mikey Kobernick plated two runs with a single.

An error allowed Huff to score in the sixth while Sutherlin singled in a run to make it 7-3. Huff drove in two more runs in the seventh to secure the win.

Greencastle 5, Parke Heritage 2

The first game of a Friday doubleheader, the Tiger Cubs scored all five runs in the fifth inning to turn a 2-0 deficit around.

Kyle Harpold put Parke Heritage on the board in the third with a single while Josiah Heck drove in a run with a double in the fifth, one of his three extra-base hits on the night, to make it 2-0.

Jayce Spidel started the rally in the bottom of the inning, hitting a bases-loaded single to push one run across before Sam Gooch forced a run in with a walk.

Sutherlin singled in the third run while Ashton Dayhuff hit a sac fly and Treyten Clark singled to make it 5-2, a lead that held the remainder of the game.

Greencastle 4, South Putnam 2

The second game of a Friday doubleheader, the Tiger Cubs kept the Eagles in check for five innings before the visitors had the bases loaded in the sixth but only pushed one run across.

Sutherlin got the home team on the board in the first with an RBI triple, though the sophomore would be stranded there as Greencastle led 1-0 after an inning.

Gregg added an RBI groundout in the third while Sutherlin tripled again to bring in a second run, though similar to the first he was left there.

Sutherlin added an RBI groundout in the fifth to make it 4-0 before South Putnam loaded the bases with one out in the sixth.

Kenny McDaniel singled to plate a run but Huff came in to relieve Sutherlin on the mound and struck out Wyatt Mullin and Kyle Glasson to get out of the jam.

Isayah Hardwick singled in a run in the seventh but was out going for third on a Hayden Tincher single to end the game.

South Vermillion 6, Cloverdale 1

The Clovers’ two-game win streak ended Saturday as the Wildcats took a 2-1 lead after an inning and played add-on in three of their five remaining at-bats.

Corey Branigan singled in a run in the top of the first but a pair of RBI groundouts from Bryson Lemmons and Dallas Coleman gave the hosts a 2-1 lead.

John Smith singled in a run in the third while an error and wild pitch gave South Vermillion two extra runs for free in the fifth.

Another error in the sixth took the score out of slam territory as Cloverdale fell in its final game before sectional play begins.

Hailee Daigle had two hits to lead the Cougar offense.

North Putnam 5, Monrovia 3

North Putnam got the first of three runs in the second on an error while Khloe Wilhite had an RBI groundout and Hailee Daigle singled in the third run.

The visitors added a run in the fourth on a Wilhite sac bunt for a 4-0 lead.
