Nature Play Days continue in Putnam County

The Nature Play Days initiative from Indiana Childrens Network ICAN is back again this year.

Several local events have already taken place and will continue through Sunday, June 9.

Outdoor play is important not just for kids, but for everyone.

Monday, 2 p.m.: Birds at the Putnam County Putnam Library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

Tuesday, 2 p.m.: Insects at Putnam County Museum, 1105 N. Jackson St., Greencastle.

Wednesday, noon: Seed Balls at Big Walnut Sports Park, 1300 S. CR 275 East, Greencastle. Participants will make and spread seed balls in the pollinator field.

Wednesday, 2 p.m.: Storywalk at Cloverdale Park, 702 S. Lafayette St.

Friday, noon: Planting native plants at the Lieber SRA Nature Center.

Friday, 5-7 p.m.: Campground roving at Lieber SRA Nature Center.

Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon: Cardbord boxes at Farmers Market, downtown Greencastle.

Saturday, 9 a.m.: Monthly hike, seining on Big Walnut Creek, Doyle Trail, at Big Walnut Natural Area, 9498 N. CR 425 East, Bainbridge. Come find out what is lurking in Big Walnut Creek

Saturday, noon-4 p.m.: Polinator Bingo, Lieber SRA Nature Center.

Sunday, 1 p.m.: Turtle feeding, Lieber SRA Nature Center.
