Greencastle School Board looking to fill vacancy

Monday, June 3, 2024

The Greencastle School Board is looking for applicants to fill the three years remaining on the term of a member who has resigned.

The vacancy is left following the resignation of Mike White, who has stepped down after 13 years on the board as a Greencastle Township Trustee appointment. White’s resignation is effective June 15.

Although the post is an appointment of the Greencastle Township Trustee, the school board has the responsibility of appointing any mid-term replacements.

With White appointed to his fourth term on the board just last year, the replacement will serve three years through June 30, 2027.

Anyone interested in serving on the five-member panel must be at least 21 years old and live within Greencastle Township.

The school board will be accepting resumes through Friday, June 21. Resumes should be sent to Greencastle Community Schools, Attn. Board Vice President Ed Wilson, 1002 Mill Pond Lane, Greencastle, IN 46135.

Wilson said applicants will be contacted thereafter and a meeting set to conduct interviews. The board has until July 15 to choose a replacement for White.
