County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 8:06 p.m. Brandon K. Cox, 44, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for driving with an ACE of .08 or greater and driving while intoxicated.

• At 5:36 p.m. Thomas J. Hood, 21, Jamestown, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 2:56 p.m. Loren T. Howe, 30, Greencastle, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 7:43 p.m. Damon T. Rivers, 48, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 1:05 a.m. Morgon M. Overbay, 30, Greenville, was lodged at the jail for driving a motorboat while intoxicated.

Friday

• At 11:47 p.m. Owen M. Rooze, 19, Crawfordsville, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated and illegal consumption of alcohol.

• At 6:09 p.m. Robert W. Houser, 43, Avon, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 5:40 p.m. Samantha J. Norris, 35, Terre Haute, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Danielle K. Lunsford, 33, Poland, was arrested by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Booked in for theft at the Walmart Supercenter and lodged at the Putnam County Jail, Lunsford allegedly attempted to take $388.14 in miscellaneous items.

Authorities say she skip-scanned items at the U-scan register, allegedly running two items through at a time.

She reportedly tried to steal a pool slide, tennis shoes and other items.

• At 9:11 p.m. Sunday, Jason B. Hayes, 52, Danville, was arrested by Officer Justin Herd.

Taken into custody on a Hendricks County warrant for probation violation, Hayes was lodged in the local jail. Original charges resulting in the probation violation were operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-endangerment and unlawful use or possession of a legend drug.

Seven recent traffic citations were issued by city officers:

• At 9:24 p.m. Saturday, Lu Wang, 35, Fillmore, was ticketed by Officer Herd.

Stopped at State Road 240 and Calbert Way, Wang was cited for having an expired license plate (Nov. 28, 2023).

• At 11:36 a.m. Saturday, Ritsuko Abrams, 57, Greencastle, was cited by Det. Darrel Bunten.

Stopped at Jackson and Washington streets, Abrams was ticketed for failure to obey signs and markings.

• At 2:19 p.m. Friday, Ballard Harris, 26, Greencastle, was cited by Capt. Brad Hiatt.

Stopped at Market and Washington streets, Harris was ticketed for having no operator’s license in possession.

• At 1:05 p.m. Friday, Chloe Sprinkle, 21, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Hiatt.

Stopped on West Walnut Street, Sprinkle was cited for distracted driving.

• At 9:48 p.m. Wednesday, Tabitha Kemp, 31, Indianapolis, was ticketed by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Stopped at Shadowlawn and Melrose avenues, Kemp was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

• At 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, Meagan Long, 24, Stilesville, was cited by Officer DeWitt.

Stopped at Veterans Highway and South Jackson Street, Long was ticketed for having an expired license plate (July 14, 2023).

• At 10 a.m. Wednesday, Claude Cymerman, 76, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Luke Brown.

Stopped at Jackson and Franklin streets, Cymerman was ticketed for going the wrong way on a one-way street.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department reported nine medical assists between last Wednesday evening and Monday morning.
