County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 2:21 a.m. Douglas R. Riley, 29, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 10:37 p.m. Austin M. Wente, 23, Plainfield, was taken into custody for resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness and reckless driving.

• At 10:32 p.m. Ronald G. Oakley Jr., 34, Brownsburg, was housed at the jail for resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness and reckless driving.

Friday

• At 3:01 a.m. Stacy D. Lewis, 50, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 12:26 a.m. Hope A. Misamore, 38, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 11:24 p.m. Scott A. Ezman, 51, Coatesville, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 6:29 p.m. Brett L. Ricketts, 19, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 1:45 p.m. Jaden E. Barger, 27, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 11:23 a.m. Dwight B. Patton, 66, Coal City, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:02 a.m. Michael D. Thacker, 35, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 9:10 a.m. Patience L. Jones, 27, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 12:10 p.m. Friday, Taureen K. Terry, 42, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Taken into custody at a Meadow Lane residence, Terry was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a charge of battery with bodily injury.

• At 2:19 p.m. Thursday, Joyce J. Helmer, 53, Greencastle, was arrested by Capt. Brad Hiatt.

Taken into custody at the Putnam County Courthouse, Helmer was lodged in the jail on county warrants for three counts of theft.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department reported 11 incidents between last Wednesday evening and Monday morning:

• At 12:08 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched for a vehicle fire at O’Reilly Auto Parts. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:14 as the fire was out on their arrival. The vehicle was checked further, and GFD went back into service at 12:20 p.m.

• At 7:16 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched for a tree branch in the roadway at 1742 E. Range Line Rd. Firefighters found the branch at 7:31, cut it up and removed it. GFD went back into service at 7:57 a.m.

• At 12:44 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Sigma Alpha Epsilon at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:46 and were advised by DePauw Public Safety that the alarm was due to construction. The alarm system already reset. GFD went back into service at 12:49 p.m.

• At 8:23 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Mason Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:27 and determined the alarm was due to a hair dryer. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:32 p.m.

• At 8:57 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to The Valyrian Place for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:06 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:10 p.m.

• At 4:52 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was called to assist the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department with a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of county roads 550 South and 75 West. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:23 p.m. and assisted with extrication of two patients, after which they were transported. GFD went back into service at 6:06 p.m.

• At 5:16 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched for a fire alarm at the DePauw chiller plant. Firefighters arrived at 5:26 and investigated the building with DePauw Public Safety, after which no cause for the alarm was determined. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:32 p.m.

• At 10:01 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Eli’s Books for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:08 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 10:09 p.m.

• At 12:23 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a motorcycle incident with injuries at the intersection of Indianapolis Road and Percy L. Julian Drive. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:31 as EMS was providing care. GFD was released and went back into service at 12:40 p.m.

• At 4:48 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was requested by Cloverdale Township Fire to maintain a landing zone at South Putnam High School during a medical response. Firefighters arrived at 5:24 p.m. and did so, but were then advised of patients being transported by ambulance. GFD went back into service at 5:58 p.m.

• At 8:09 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Lilienthal House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:13 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:20 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for eight medical assists and had two disregards during this timeframe.
