Jetty Cottongim

Jetty was a beloved woman during her incredible 92 years of life. She left this world to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours Monday morning, June 17, 2024.

Jetty was born in 1931 to two loving parents, Portland and Delia Disney, and was raised in Hendricks County.

She married at the age of 16 to Henry Cottongim. After losing her husband far too soon, she successfully raised their two daughters, Brenda and Robin.

She also spent 30-plus years as a cook before retiring from Hendricks Regional Health. After retirement, she focused on her love of family and nature, always admiring God’s handiwork.

We will remember Jetty for her love of flowers, birds, fossils, Nibbles (her cat), her delicious goodies and being a true prayer warrior, who knew the Lord was a miracle worker, but on His time.

Jetty was preceded in death by her parents, Portland and Delia, and her one and only love, husband Henry.

She left behind, for now, daughters Brenda Lawson and Robin and Rusty (husband) Pickett; grandchildren Michelle and John (husband) Martin and Chris and Angie (wife) Edwards; six great-grandchildren, Justin and Jessica (fiancee), Emmalie, Jake, Corbin, Caleb and Grace; five great-great grandchildren; and lastly, numerous family members, either by blood or love.

This amazing woman was the cornerstone of our family. While we find comfort in knowing that Heaven gained an angel, we cannot help but feel the tremendous heartbreak that our matriarch is no longer with us.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. She did not want anyone standing around crying over her, as she is finally home at last.
