BRAZIL — The Brazil Concert Band, with Director Matthew Huber, will present two patriotic programs recognizing Independence Day this year.

The first show will be Sunday, June 30 and the second show will be on Sunday, July 7. Both shows will begin at 8 p.m. in Forest Park, rain or shine.

The first show will include “The Liberty Bell,” “Sabre and Spurs,” “Semper Fidelis,” “The Washington Post March” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” all by John Philip Sousa.

“Over There” is a selection of American songs from World War I arranged by M. L. Lake, including the title song, “Good-Bye Broadway, Hello France,” “The Rose of No Man’s Land” and other popular tunes from 1917 and 1918.

“The Blue and the Gray” highlights songs from both sides of the Civil War battlefields in an arrangement by Clare Grundman.

Meanwhile, the audience will get to sing during “The Ultimate Patriotic Sing-Along” by Jerry Brubaker, with “God Bless America,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “America the Beautiful” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

“Duty, Honor, Country,” arranged by Harold L. Walters, is built around an address made by General of the Army Douglas MacArthur at the United States Military Academy in 1962.

Finally, “The Fourth of July” arranged by John Cacavas will feature a medley of several well-known patriotic songs.
