State Road 59 bridge to close temporarily in Parke County

BELLMORE - Temporary closure of the State Road 59 bridge over Otter Creek in Parke County has been announced by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).

Beginning on or after Monday, July 8, crews will be closing the roadway over the bridge to replace pipes and a small structure in the area. The location is about two miles north of the Clay-Parke county line, south of Bellmore and north of Brazil.

The official detour around the closure is SR 59 to U.S. 41 to Interstate 70 to U.S. 40 to SR 59 on the north side and SR 59 to U.S. 40 to I-70 to U.S. 41 to U.S. 36 to SR 59 on the south side.

INDOT encourages all drivers to seek an alternate route around the closure and to exercise caution while traveling through and around all work zones.
