Volkswagens old and new sought for parade

Volkswagen owners are invited as the Volkswagen Brigade plans again to bring up the rear of the Putnam County 4-H Fair Parade on Sunday, July 14.

Since its first appearance in 2001, the group’s mission has been to keep the marque alive by inviting enthusiasts throughout the area to participate in this parade tradition.

Whether air-cooled or water-cooled, customized or daily drivers, all Volkswagens vintage and modern are welcome.

The group will stage in the parking lot at Athletico, across from the Greencastle Schools central office on Mill Pond Lane. The parade will proceed onto Seminary Street from the intersection of Wood and Seminary.

Participants should arrive at the lot by 1 p.m., while the parade will get under way by 2 p.m.
