POET awards $5,500 in grants to Area 30, GMS
CLOVERDALE — POET recently gave $5,500 in grant funding to Area 30 Career Center and Greencastle Middle School toward upgrades and expansion.
The funds were donated through POET’s Community Impact Grant Program for 2024, which awards grants to causes throughout the communities in which the company operates.
Area 30 received a $3,000 grant to upgrade equipment and expand learning resources, as well as update the curriculum and cover the cost of participation in competitions and events.
Greencastle Middle School received a $2,500 grant to repair its outdoor garden and to purchase soil, seeds and gardening tools. Such will go toward sustaining the garden and providing opportunities for students to work in it.
“At POET, we’re always striving to make a positive impact in our communities,” said POET General Manager Jeremy Jacobs. “By giving young people the opportunity to learn new and valuable skills, we’re investing in the future.”
The next grant cycle will open in the spring of 2025. For more information, persons may visit poet.com/grants.
