Seven contestants to vie for 2024 Miss Putnam County Fair

The 2024 Miss Putnam County is set to be crowned by 2023 Queen Katie Fry (in crown) during the Miss Putnam County Fair Queen Contest set for Saturday, July 13 at the Fairgrounds Community Building. With seven candidates vying for the crown, the 2024 Miss Putnam County Fair Queen Contest is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.

The event will take place in the Fairgrounds Community Building.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is $5.

At night’s end, 2023 Queen Katie Fry will crown the new Miss Putnam County.

Here is a brief look at each of the young ladies in this year’s pageant.

The Putnam County Fair runs from Friday, July 19 through Friday, July 26.

Sydney Moore

Sydney Moore is the 18-year-old daughter of David and Angie Moore. She is a 2023 graduate of North Putnam High School. Sydney has three sisters. In the fall, she will continue her education at Murray State University, majoring in agriculture education. Sydney is employed at First Baptist Preschool. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in the barn and showing her horses. Sydney’s sponsor for the contest is Culligan of Putnam County

Kennedy Clark

Kennedy Clark is the 19-year-old daughter of Ryan and Angie Clark. She is a 2023 graduate of South Putnam High School. Kennedy has one younger brother. In the fall, she will continue her education at Indiana State University to study elementary education with a minor in coaching. Kennedy is employed at Cowpokes Work and Western. In her spare time, she enjoys taking pictures for her photography business. Kennedy’s sponsor for the contest is Ames 4K Farms.

Gabbi Simonson

Gabbi Simonson is the 19-year-old daughter of Jason and Jennifer Simonson. She is a 2024 graduate of North Putnam High School. Gabbi has one brother. In the fall, she will attend Ball State University to major in biology with focuses in zoology and pre-veterinary sciences. Gabbi is employed at Majestic Care of Avon Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking and training animals. Gabbi’s sponsor for this contest is JTN Services.

Hope Taylor

Hope Taylor is the 19-year-old daughter of Ronnie and Jessica Taylor. She is a 2023 graduate of South Putnam High School. Hope has two siblings. She currently attends Ivy Tech Community College where she is studying psychology. She is employed as a CNA at Mill Pond Health Campus. In her spare time, she enjoys anything outdoors, as well as crafts and creative writing. Hope’s sponsor for this contest is Bud and Tammy Page.

Chloe Tomaw

Chloe Tomaw is the 19-year-old daughter of John and Jennifer Tomaw. She is a 2023 graduate of South Putnam High School. Chloe has three siblings. She is currently attending Indiana State University, where she is studying to become a veterinary tech. Chloe is employed at Chicago’s Pizza. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as hiking and photography. Chloe’s sponsor for this contest is Josh and Brian Boller Excavating and Removal.

Abbey Shoffner

Abbey Shoffner is the 18-year-old daughter of Steve and Andrea Shoffner. She is a 2024 homeschool graduate. Abbey has five siblings. In the fall, she will attend Indiana State University to major in English. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and writing anything from short stories and novellas to poetry. Abbey’s sponsor for this contest is Dirty Hairy Pet Salon.

Grace Clodfelter

Grace Clodfelter is the 18-year-old daughter of David and Kylee Clodfelter. She is a 2024 graduate of North Putnam High School. In the fall, Grace will attend Indiana State University to study elementary education. In her spare time, she enjoys genealogy, playing music and spending time with friends and family. Grace’s sponsor for this contest is Pingleton Sawmill.
