Turning his face skyward as if toward his “cello guardian angels,” DePauw music professor emeritus Eric Edberg performs the Saint-Saëns cello concerto Wednesday during the most recent Greencastle Summer Music Festival performance at Gobin Church. In a concert featuring three works dear to the cellist and festival founder, Edberg spoke of how he describes his own teachers to his current students as their “cello grandparents” and even “guardian angels” in the case of those who have passed.
