County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Wednesday.

• At 1:45 a.m. Keith A. Clampitt, 38, Danville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:43 a.m. Cordell George III, 35, Mooresville, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Holly R. Frye, 35, Greencastle, was arrested by Capt. Brad Hiatt.

Taken into custody at a North College Avenue residence, Frye was booked in the Putnam County Jail for domestic battery.

• At 3:30 p.m. Monday, Levi Runnells, 34, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Jensen Clement.

Runnells was lodged at the Putnam County Jail on a Putnam County warrant for the original charges of fraud, theft and theft with a prior conviction.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department reported four responses between Monday morning and Thursday morning:

• At 11:32 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Reese Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:36 and determined the alarm was due to construction. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:40 a.m.

• At 2:52 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to the Putnam County YMCA site for a gas leak. Firefighters arrived at 3:01 p.m. as a small leak was found. The site was monitored before CenterPoint Energy was contacted. GFD went back into service at 3:48 p.m.

• At 6:34 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded for a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Bloomington Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:43 and cleaned up fluids. GFD went back into service at 7:03 a.m.

• At 2:19 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Mason Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:21 and were advised that the alarm system was being tested. GFD went back into service at 2:26 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for eight medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
