Presented by the Greencastle Civic League and Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department, Parkfest takes place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Tuesday in June and July.

Ryan Young is as local as they come. Raised in Greencastle, Young binds the generation gap like Velcro. He likes to say he “knows all of the songs you want to hear and the song your grandma wants to hear.”

Young specializes in a variety of rock and country gaining his love of music from his late father, Randy Young.

“I think my love of music comes from my dad,” Young said. “I started playing the guitar when I was 10 years old, and like him, I always have music playing.”

Rocky Branch Bluegrass Band was formed in 2019 by Melinda Davis and Steve Bastin. The five members include Melinda Davis on guitar and lead vocals, Bastin on guitar and lead vocals, Scott Davis on mandolin, Faron Livingston on upright bass and Paul Williams on banjo.

Rocky Branch has played all around the state of Indiana, including Norman Station, Hayden Bluegrass Jamboree, the Donner Center in Columbus, Hard Truth Distillery in Nashville, Country Heritage Winery in Nashville, Cedar Creek Brewery in Nashville, the American Legion in Bloomington, Morgenstern’s Bookstore in Bloomington and are proud to say they have played on the main stage at the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Festival in Bean Blossom and are looking forward to doing so again in September.

Rocky Branch has recorded two albums: “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” which consists of classic bluegrass cover songs, and “Daddy’s Pickup Truck,” which is entirely original songs written by the band.

“We all have a passion for what we do and love playing live music,” the band members note. “Although we are primarily a bluegrass band, we also mix in country, folk, and gospel music into our set lists. Our number one goal is to give our audience a high energy show that they can enjoy and put a smile on their faces.”

Sound Sponsor for the 2024 season of Parkfest is Prime Real Estate, with Walmart as Platinum Sponsor and Furr Insurance Agency as Gold Sponsor.

Food will be available for purchase from The Whisk, Lost Hollow and Kona Ice.

The Parkfest lineup for the remainder of the season includes:

July 16: Backroad Revival, Mystery Train Band

July 23: Haley McGinnis, Bobbie Lancaster and Friends
