We are saddened to announce that Kyle LaRoy Rooker passed away on July 7, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, just two days shy of his 35th birthday.

Kyle was born in Putnam County on July 9, 1989 to his loving parents, Recco and Dee Rooker.

He was a dedicated son, devoted brother and cherished friend to many.

Kyle was a 2008 graduate of North Putnam High School.

Kyle is survived by his father, Recco Rooker; his mother, Lori “Dee” Rooker; and his younger sister, Katie Rooker.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Shirley and Robert “Bob” Rooker; his maternal grandparents, Freda and George “Lum” Paris; his aunt, Rosalynda “George” Rooker Huber; his uncle, Ronald “Ronnie” Glenn; and cousin Tiffany (Lambermont) Mauk.

From an early age, Kyle was passionate about athletics and hard work. He excelled in high school and college sports, earning a scholarship to play football at Marian University while pursuing a nursing degree.

Known for his unwavering kindness, sense of humor and genuine nature, Kyle never met a stranger and was always respectful and helpful to those around him. His dedication to helping others led him to further his career in nursing at MedTech College, where he was pinned as a registered nurse.

Kyle’s interests extended beyond his professional achievements. He loved watching and playing sports, particularly baseball and football. As an avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing and anything outdoors that allowed him to connect with nature. He also enjoyed singing cover songs across various genres, traveling and was devoted to his physical and mental well-being.

A celebration of Kyle’s life will be held on July 21 from 1-4 p.m. at the Bainbridge Community Building. The family invites all who knew Kyle to join them in remembering and honoring his remarkable life.

Rest in peace, Kyle. Your memory will forever remain in our hearts.
