July hike set Saturday at Owl Trail

Putnam Parks & Pathways is sponsoring a hike on Owl Trail on Saturday, July 13 at 9 a.m. John Hawthorne will be the leader.

The nearly 400 wooded acres along the south shore of Glenn Flint Lake is set to become Putnam County’s newest attraction.

The hike will pass through a large grove of trees that were planted more than 20 years ago. Plants along the trail will be identified. Hikers will stop at a seasonal pond and view a large pollinator planting.

Several more trails have been added. The hike will also feature discussion of future plans for the trail.

Owl Trail (Glenn Flint Lake Woodland) is owned by the Little Walnut Creek Conservancy District. The entrance to Owl Trail is straight across from 5306 W. CR 375 North.
