BRAZIL — The Brazil Concert Band, directed by Matthew S. Huber, will present “100 Years of Delts” on Sunday, July 28 at 8 p.m. in Forest Park, rain or shine.

The year 2024 is the centennial of the sorority Delta Theta Tau. Dr. Miranda Goodale, BCB French hornist, will introduce area members of the Delts and their mission.

Much of the BCB music of the week will reflect on the contribution of Delts.

Marches featured are “Super Service” by J. Gus Davis, “March of The Women Marines” by Louis Saverino, “The Black Horse Troop” by John Philip Sousa (written in 1924), “Gifted Leadership” by Henry Fillmore and “New Friendship” by Fred Jewell.

A medley to be performed is “Gershwin” with “Rhapsody in Blue,” “Strike Up the Band,” “Embraceable You,” “The Man I Love,” “Liza” and “I Got Rhythm,” arranged by Robert Russell Bennett.

Also, “Fiddler on the Roof” arranged by John Warrington, “The Shadow of Your Smile” arranged by Ken Whitcomb and “Irving Berlin-A Symphonic Portrait” arranged by Hawley Ades.

New to the BCB is “Forrest Gump Suite,” arranged by Calvin Custer. The BCB will dedicate this composition to Dr. Goodale for her service to the citizens of Brazil and Clay County.
