Rosemary Dickerson

Rosemary Dickerson, 85, of Roachdale, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, 2024 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville.

Rosemary was born in Vermillion County on March 25, 1939 to the late Roy L. and Florence (Noggle) Holton.

On Oct. 12, 1957, Rosemary and Raymond Lee Dickerson were united in marriage. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Rosemary was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church for many years. She spent 23 years as a cook in the cafeteria at Roachdale Elementary School. She loved being around the children. She was also a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family. Her family was most important to her.

Rosemary is survived by her three sons, Kenneth R. Dickerson, Roy L. Dickerson (Deanna) and Joseph E. Dickerson (Yvonne); two grandchildren, Ashley L. Blessing (Andy) and Amber L. Dickerson; one great-grandchild, Jaden Kemp; special niece Linda McGaughey (Steve); and a lifelong friend of 72 years Martha Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Lee Dickerson and siblings Thomas Holton, Betty A. Perkins, Norma Jean Ronk and Bud Holton.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at Roachdale Christian Church, 1 N. Walnut St., with Pastor Nate Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time, also at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be provided.
