County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 5:26 p.m. Ray Akers, 63, Reelsville, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 3:57 a.m. Andrea Moon, 41, Brazil, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 8:02 p.m., Megan Woessner, 33, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Friday

• At 5:21 p.m. Anthony Anderson, 34, Terre Haute, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 1:43 p.m. Michael Davis, 56, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for invasion of privacy.

• At 10:46 a.m. Justin Taylor, 25, Roachdale, was booked in for failure to appear.

• At 1:14 a.m. Fransisco Gutierrez, 43, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated endangering a person.

Thursday

• At 10:14 a.m. Tanya Hubbard, 49, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 9:37 a.m. Wesley January, 33, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:35 a.m. Brandy Lindley, 43, Brazil, was booked in the jail on a local warrant.

City Police

Two traffic citations were issued recently by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 1:02 p.m. Friday, Stephen Frye, 47, Penrose, Colo., was cited by Sgt. Nick Eastham.

Stopped at Arlington and Franklin streets, Frye was ticketed for disregarding an official traffic control device.

• At 11:42 a.m. Friday, Wilguens Josaphat, 31, Pompano Beach, Fla., was ticketed by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Stopped at Arlington and Walnut streets, Josaphat was cited for disregarding an official traffic control device.

City Fire

Greencastle firefighters responded to a number of recent dispatches.

• At 8:41 p.m. on Sunday, GFD investigated a residential fire alarm at 912 Crown St. Firefighters determined the alarm was due to cooking. The homeowner had reset the system, and crews returned to service at 8:53 p.m.

• At 1:39 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters responded to an alarm at Humbert Hall, 208 E. Olive St. Determining the alarm was set off by hair care products, the reset the alarm and returned to service at 1:50 p.m.

• At 12:39 p.m. on Sunday, crews were called to an alarm at DePauw University housing at 500 S. Jackson St. They investigated and determined it was due to cooking. DePauw Police reset the alarm, and firefighters returned to service at 12:47 p.m.

• At 9:52 p.m. on Saturday, GFD investigated an outside fire at 209 N. Vine St. Investigating the matter as a possible illegal burn, crews determined the fire met the city ordinance and cleared the scene at 10:04 p.m.

• At 9:28 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters were called to an alarm at Reese hall, 413 S. Locust St. They determined it was due to cooking and returned to service at 9:40 p.m.

• At 7:11 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters investigated an alarm at DePauw housing at 505 S. Jackson St. They determined it had been activated by perfume and cleared the scene at 7:17 p.m.

• At 5:32 p.m. on Saturday, crews responded to an alarm at 625 Medallion Lane. They determined the alarm was due to cooking. The homeowner reset the alarm, and GFD was back in service at 5:40 p.m.

• At 4:59 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to an alarm at Humbert Hall. Crews arrived and determined it was due to perfume. They reset the alarm at left the scene at 5:10 p.m.

• At 1:16 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters investigated an alarm at DePauw housing at 107 W. Hanna St. They determined the alarm was due to cooking, returning to service at 1:24 p.m.

• At 5:21 a.m. and again at 5:50 a.m. on Saturday, crews were called to fire alarms at Chiyoda, 2200 E. State Road 240. The system had activated due to a power outage. Maintenance crews said they would contact the alarm company to fix the problem. Firefighters left the scene the final time at 6:19 a.m.

• At 5:58 p.m. on Friday, GFD investigated an alarm at Pi Beta Phi, 303 S. Locust St. Upon investigation, they could not determine a cause. They reset the alarm and returned to service at 6:09 p.m.

• At 11:04 p.m. on Thursday, crews investigated an alarm at DePauw housing at 109 W. Hanna St. They determined the alarm was activated due to cooking, resetting the alarm in leaving the scene at 11:14 p.m.

• At 4:38 p.m. on Thursday, firefighters responded to an alarm at DePauw housing at 407 S. Jackson St. They investigated and determined it was activated by cooking. Crews left the scene at 4:46 p.m.

GFD also responded to six medical dispatches as well as once being disregarded en route to a call.
