Janice Anne Inman, 83, passed away on Sept. 5, 2024.

Born Jan. 21, 1941 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Clifford and Dorothy Monnett. She enjoyed working for many years in “Daddy’s Store,” a.k.a. Monnett’s Market, which was a South End staple for many years.

She graduated from Greencastle High School in 1959 and served on the reunion committee. She enjoyed visiting her classmates at her 65th class reunion this past summer.

She married Victor Ray Inman on Dec. 18, 1959. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2004 after 44 years of marriage.

Janice worked for the Putnam County Highway Department for 20 years, retiring in 2004. She also served two terms as clerk-treasurer for the City of Greencastle.

She never missed an IU basketball game and loved Sprite, circus peanuts and powdered sugar donuts. She leaves behind $40 of unused Kohl’s cash.

Survivors include her children, Tammy (Keith) Wade of Greencastle and Todd (Sondra) Inman of Columbia, Mo.; grandchildren Tyler Wade of Indianapolis, Abraham Wade of Orlando, Fla., Raegan Inman of Columbia, Mo., and Meredith Inman, of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Keith Monnett of Greencastle; one sister, Marcia Campbell of Muncie; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Dorothy Monnett; her husband, Victor Inman; her brothers Bill, Don, Gordon “Bud” and Jerry Monnett; and sisters Mildred “Minnie” Edwards and Patricia “Tishie” Smith.

A private, family graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. A lunch with family will follow. Friends may visit the family from 2-4 p.m. at the Greencastle Elks Lodge.

Hall-Baker Funeral Home of Plainfield is handling arrangements.
