Francis Garland ‘Frank’ Kyle

Francis Garland Kyle Jr., 77, passed away on Sept. 5, 2024.

Frank was born to the late Francis Garland Kyle Sr. and Charlotte Anita (Baynard) Kyle on Oct. 5, 1946 in Greencastle.

Frank graduated from Brazil High School. He was an avid Boy Scout, where he earned the highest award, the Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow. After high school, he entered the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam.

Upon returning home from the war, Frank entered the workforce and became an electrician. He worked for PSI Energy, which later became Duke Energy up until his retirement.

On Aug. 22, 1981, Frank married his wife Roberta.

Frank enjoyed riding motorcycles for more than 40 years. He loved spending time outdoors camping, fishing, hunting and swimming. Family was very important to Frank. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and was always willing to teach them new skills.

He was a member of the VFW Post 1127.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, one in infancy and Amy Curry, and one brother, Rodney Kyle.

Frank is survived by wife Roberta; children Anita Williams (Larry), Francis Kyle III, Chrischelle Brown, Terry Johnson, Anna Smith and Derrick Wickware; grandchildren Shayla, Gerald, Keyona, Kaiyanna, Ashley, Mariah, Hannah, Lillian, Amaya and Ellie; and three great-grandchildren, Kaleena, Oliver and Julian.

A visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 16 from 4-8 p.m. at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Brazil. Military honors will be presented at the cemetery.
