Big Walnut Water issues boil order

Due to a water main issue, Big Walnut Water customers located on Walker Lane, West Walnut and 400 West have been placed on a boil water advisory.

Crews will be working to correct this problem and it may take some time to for the water to be restored. Once the water is restored customers are being asked to follow the following instructions:

It is recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before using. Continue to boil all cooking and drinking water until Big Walnut sends notification that it is no longer necessary.

“Until we resolve this drinking water problem, we are also asking that you conserve water and only use what is necessary for household and personal needs,” the water corporation wrote in a letter to customers. “We appreciate your cooperation during this time and will update you as necessary until the drinking water problem has been solved.”
