The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution celebrate the Constitution of the United States each year.

Greencastle Mayor Lynda R. Dunbar gathered with members of Washburn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to proclaim Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week in the City of Greencastle. The Mayor urges all citizens to study the Constitution and reflect on the privilege of being an American with all the rights and responsibilities which the privilege involves.

Members of the Washburn Chapter will be visiting fifth grade classes in all Putnam County schools, that is 408 students, and giving them Constitution booklets. They will present a program and discuss the importance of the Constitution with our students.

It is a privilege and duty of American people to commemorate the 237th anniversary of the Constitution of the United States.

  • Glad to see the Marquis could make it.

Most Americans are more concerned with the personal affairs of the Royal Family than that of the contents of the US Constitution.
