Anita Kay Higgins

Anita Kay Higgins, 79, Avon, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2024 at her home.

Anita was born on Dec. 12, 1944, in Terre Haute to the late George and Virginia (Evans) Patterson.

Anita was a 1962 graduate of Bainbridge High School. She then went on to obtain her cosmetology license and owned My Fair Lady Beauty Salon.

On Aug. 4, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, John C. Higgins, and he survives. Before her passing, they shared 62 years of marriage.

Survivors included husband, John Higgins; daughter Deb (John) McGaughey; son Mike (Michelle) Higgins; daughter Mindy (Coy) McElfresh; grandchildren Carter (Jennifer) Price, Morgan (Bo) Price, Chandler (Amaris) Henson, Ella Higgins, Ethan Higgins, Autumn McElfresh-Sutton and Evan McElfresh-Sutton.

A private graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 17.
