BRAZIL — Cloverdale’s Celeste Terrell followed up her Putnam County Golf Match medalist performance by advancing to the regional round after qualifying from the IHSAA Northview Girls’ Golf Sectional Friday at Forest Park GC.

Terrell was one of three county golfers who shot within two strokes of one another, topping the county participant field with a round of 97, the second golfer to advance without a team.

Greencastle’s Emma Callahan shot 98, tied with Monrovia’s Avery Wolfe, but lost on the fourth playoff hole for the final spot at the Washington Regional next week. Parke Heritage’s Taya Sturmer was the top individual advancer with a round of 84.

Clover senior Autumn Wheeler was a stoke outside the playoff position, shooting 99 on the day.

Cloverdale finished fourth as a team, a spot away from advancing to the regional collectively, with a round of 409. Behind Terrell and Wheeler were Aliyaah Burroff on 104, Payton Watkins on 109 and Aliyah Maldonado on 121.

Terre Haute South won the sectional title with a round of 318. Brave Gabrielle Blakeney won a playoff over teammate Avery Cassell for medalist honors after both shot 72. Terre Haute North finished second on 353 and Northview third on 378.

South Putnam finished ninth overall on 479. Faith Wiggins led the Eagles on 110, followed by Mollie Huber on 117, Lydia Roderick on 124 and Bella Fanning on 128.
