Kerry Robert Poynter

Kerry Robert Poynter, 67, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Greencastle prior to calling Charlotte home.

He worked for many years as a roofer.

He is the son of Walter Poynter of Greencastle and Thalia Clodfelter of Gastonia, N.C. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter.

He is survived by son Mark Poynter of Greencastle, daughter Cara and mother Thalia. He is also survived by his

sisters, Kathy Lee and Lea Ann Scoby of Gastonia and Gail Poynter of Belmont, as well as his significant other Carolyn

Summerlin of Charlotte.

The family will hold a private remembrance for Kerry. In lieu of flowers, they ask for any donations to go to American Heart Association.
