First Friday finale for 2024 on tap this week

Monday, September 30, 2024

The final First Friday of the season is upon us, and it shapes up to be another fun night on the Putnam County Courthouse Square in Greencastle.

The Katz Pajamas will be performing on the Courthouse stage at 7 p.m., while Black Market Vinyl will be hitting the Lost Hollow Stage on Franklin Street and the band Homemade Jam will be playing on the Moore's Stage on Indiana Street.

If you still need a little more music in your First Friday, Lost Hollow will have a drum circle at 5 p.m. and Dreadful Greta will be performing inside at 9 p.m.

One of the highlights of this month's event is the community favorite Putt Putnam hosted by Castlemakers. That means there will be several mini-golf holes set up on Franklin Street for kids and adults to participate. Bring your friends and family and see who can walk away as the Putt Putnam golf champ.

The Putnam County Gaming Initiative will be on site with games and activities for kids and adults, along with the Greencastle Arts Council with activities as well. Additionally the regular vendors, food and drinks will be available.

Main Street Greencastle Executive Director Russell Harvey hopes to see the 2024 First Friday season go out with a bang.

“We would love to see Downtown Greencastle packed out as we celebrate the last First Friday of the season and transition into fall,” Harvey said. “Head downtown and check out the great businesses, vendors and awesome community. Let's enjoy our downtown while the weather is still great. See you all at First Friday.”
