Daphne Jean Keller Brewer

Daphne Jean Keller Brewer, 88, Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2024.

Daphne was born June 29, 1936 in Parkersburg in Montgomery County to the late Vernice E. Keller and Donna M. (Payne) Keller.

Daphne was a 1954 graduate of Ladoga High School. On Feb. 27, 1955 in Ladoga, Daphne married Lawrence E. Brewer. They were approaching 70 years of marriage.

Daphne attended Church of Christ at Haw Creek, McKinley Hill Church of Christ, Brazil and Whitesville Christian Church. Daphne loved her daily drives in the countryside with Lawrence. She was a master of classic home cooking, a talented musician and an avid gospel singer. She loved attending all types of sporting events, especially of her grandchildren, their fellow friends and the Southmont Mounties.

Her family, friends and church were the most important part of her life. She served hundreds of children over several decades in food service and in classrooms in Crawfordsville Schools and was loved by all.

Survivors include her children, Gregory Brewer, Eric W. Brewer (Judith) and Melinda Brewer (Joan). Siblings include Eleanor K. Brewer and Leon M. Keller. Her grandchildren were Bailey Cummings (Dustin), E.J. Brewer and Ella Brewer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Larry Mark Brewer.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Waveland, with Pastor Glen McFarland officiating.
