Michael Eugene Comer, 68, Greencastle, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024.

Born on March 10, 1956 in Putnam County. He was the son of the late Robert and Delores (Branham) Comer.

He worked at Pingleton Sawmill Inc. since Sept. 15, 1990.

Mike helped raise hay on the farm, ran equipment at the mill and always took pride in keeping the grounds looking pristine. He was a hard worker, dependable, a wonderful employee and a great friend. Mike never afraid to bring some sarcasm to a conversation, and you always knew how he felt about you. Mike, or Comer as he was often referred to, is irreplaceable!

Mike was a lifetime member, 40-plus years of the Deer Creek Coon Hunters Association, where he shared his love for hunting, playing cards and gathering with longtime friends. In his early years he enjoyed playing softball at Robe-Ann Park. He had a passion for sports and continued to watch his favorite football team along with basketball over the years.

Mike will be remembered for his stories at the Fairway, trips to the gas stations enjoying his lotto, or just taking his little “Punkie” (his four-legged companion) a ride in his truck. If you knew Mike, he always did things his own way… that’s what we loved about him the most.

Mike is survived by a sister, Diana Hood; three brothers, William (Vicky) Beams, Bruce (Sheri) Comer and Christopher (Christine) Comer, with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Greencastle Moose Lodge, 212 W. Franklin St., Greencastle.
