Voter registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 7

Early voting begins Tuesday

Potential voters in the State of Indiana have until Monday, Oct. 7 to register to vote in the upcoming general election.

Indiana citizens are encouraged to check their voting status and, if necessary, register to vote prior to the Oct. 7 deadline. This may be done at the Putnam County Voter Registration Office on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays or online at www.indianavoters.com.

In order to be eligible to vote in the Tuesday, Nov. 5 election, voters have until 4 p.m. on Oct. 7 to register in person or 11:59 p.m. to do so online.

With the close of the registration period, early voting will commence at the Putnam County Courthouse at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Early voting continue from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the courthouse, with the exception of Monday, Oct. 14, on which county offices will be closed in observance of Columbus Day.

The final day of early voting will be Monday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m.-noon.

Saturday voting will also be available in the last two weeks before Election Day, with polling open at both the Putnam County Courthouse and the Bainbridge Community Center from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
