TERRE HAUTE – The Putnam County Community Foundation was honored recently for its support of Ivy Tech Community College over the years.

During the 2024 Distinguished Alumni and Benefactor Awards in Indianapolis, Ivy Tech and the Ivy Tech Foundation celebrated the contributions of accomplished graduates and donors and volunteers to their communities and to Ivy Tech. Each of Ivy Tech’s 19 campuses nominated a graduate and a donor for the Distinguished Alumni and Benefactor Awards, which the Ivy Tech Foundation administers annually.

The Putnam County Community Foundation (PCCF) was recognized by Ivy Tech Terre Haute with its Benefactor Award, which applauds the generosity of donors and volunteers – including individuals, corporations and foundations – whose support enables the Ivy Tech Foundation to bridge financial gaps that promote the academic success and career readiness of Ivy Tech students.

PCCF has partnered with Ivy Tech Terre Haute for nearly two decades and has contributed more than $1 million in support of the college and its students. Most notably, PCCF provided the lead gift in what was a new state-of-the-art simulation center for nursing students at Ivy Tech’s Greencastle location.

“Our distinguished alumni and benefactors embody Ivy Tech’s mission to transform lives and strengthen Indiana’s economy,” Ivy Tech President Sue Ellsperman said. “Through their time, talent, treasure and testimony, individuals honored this year made significant contributions to the betterment of lives and their communities.”

Along with the Benefactor Award, Ivy Tech also awarded its Distinguished Alumni Award, which celebrates Ivy Tech graduates who have made a lasting impact on their communities and on Ivy Tech through their exceptional professional, philanthropic or volunteer achievement. Nick Givens, vice president and chief information officer at Riddell National Bank, was the recipient of this award from Ivy Tech Terre Haute.
