Richard Dean Rasnake

Richard Dean Rasnake, 80, of Fillmore, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 in Greencastle.

Richard was born June 13, 1944 to Ralph and Valeria Rasnake (Reed) in Indianapolis.

Richard was a graduate of Westfield Washington High School in Westfield. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Elevator Constructors local 34 for 36 years and a member of the American Legion Post 118 in Danville for many years. He was a dedicated employee of Schindler’s Elevator and Escalators for 30-plus years.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rasnake; his parents; a daughter, Cheryl Kay Rasnake; and two brothers, Ralph Rasnake Jr and Kenny Rasnake.

Richard is survived by his son, David Rasnake, and two grandchildren.

A private family service will be held on Friday, Oct. 11.
